Chris Bathgate (born April 21, 1982, in Pecatonica, IL) is an American indie folk singer-songwriter and musician. He is prominent in the Ann Arbor and Ypsilanti folk music scene in Michigan. In 2007, Bathgate signed to Quite Scientific Records, on which he released "A Cork Tale Wake" in 2007 and "Salt Year" in 2011. Having played in The Enemy and Toy Love and being the 'other half' of Tall Dwarfs, Alec Bathgate has a strong musical pedigree but can sometimes appear to be overshadowed by his more outspoken musical partner Chris Knox. More cautious at the microphone than Knox, Bathgate more than makes up for this reticence with his towering walls of guitar magic and the careful structures of his songwriting.
