Isidore Isou (January 31, 1925 – July 28, 2007), was a Romanian-born French poet, film critic and visual artist. He was the founder of Lettrism, an art and literary movement which owed inspiration to Dada and Surrealism. Born into a Jewish family in Botoşani, Isou started his career as an avant-garde art journalist during World War II, shortly after the August 23 coup saw Romania joining the Allies (see Romania during World War II). Isidore was born when Jeffrey Cain (from Remy Zero) approached Steve Kilbey backstage after a concert when the Church were touring the US, and handed him a demo of an instrumental song he had written. This song was to become Transmigration. At home in Sydney, Kilbey wrote the lyrics and added vocals in his brother Johns Karmic Hit studio. Thrilled with the result, Cain sent Kilbey more music, which resulted in the s/t album Isidore which was released on Karmic Hit records in 2004. O Sidonie foi formado em 1997 por três estudantes de medicina em Barcelona, Espanha. Marc Ros (voz e guitarra), Axel Pi (bateria) e Jesús Senra (voz e baixo) começaram tocando versões de suas bandas preferidas: Velvet Underground, The Doors, David Bowie, Beatles e Rolling Stones. As influências psicodélicas podem ser ouvidas desde o primeiro trabalho da banda, o mini LP Dragonfly (2000). Depois foram lançados: Sidonie (2001), Shell Kids (2003) e Fascinado (2005). Em 19 de Junho de 2008 sai Costa Azul, com músicas mais calmas e sofisticadas porém sem deixar de lado a psicodelia. .

Sido Martens (1949) is a Frisian folk musician. He makes Dutch music inspired by several folk songs, put in a modern jacket. He sings in Frisian, Dutch and English. Before he went solo until 1982, he played in the bands Farmers Union and Fungus where he released several LP's with in the seventies. Since 1996 Sido is busy with a second career. From 1985 until now, Sido released 13 solo albums. According to his website, Sido Martens is Songsmith in the tradition of the craft. .
