The Superfantastics are Matthew MacDonald and Stephanie d'Entremont, a musical duo based in Halifax. After their wildly successful EP Like Letters, they have followed up with their debut full length Pop-Up Book. This is a solid collection of sixties inspired, east coast pop songs – think Beach Boys mixed with early Sloan. They are very good at making these songs sound effortless. All the fun summer sounds are here – melodies, boy–girl vocals, driving guitars, hand claps, catchy hooks, songs about road trips, etc. There is an excellent balance to all of these elements as well. .
