The Boys Choir of Harlem (also known as the Harlem Boys Choir) is a choir located in Harlem, New York City, USA. Founded in 1968 by Dr. Walter Turnbull. The choir is internationally known. Performers receive rigorous voice training and perform many types of music, including classical, hip-hop, r&b, jazz, and gospel music. Eddie Palmieri's supergroup Harlem River Drive was the first group to really merge black and Latin styles and musicians, resulting in a free-form brew of salsa, funk, soul, jazz, and fusion. Charlemagne Palestine (born Charles Martin or Chaim Moshe Tzadik Palestine 15 August 1945 or 1947, in Brooklyn, New York) is a visual artist, composer and performer in the minimalist movement of the 60's and 70's (along with Philip Glass, Steve Reich and Terry Riley). He disappeared from the music scene in the late 70's and didn't return until the early 90's. .
