Redemption jest amerykańskim zespołem grającym progresywny metal/power metal, złożonym z byłych i obecnych członków Fates Warning oraz Prymary. Pierwotnie, zespół prowadzony przez Nicka van Dyka składał się z wokalisty Ricka Mythiasina, gitarzysty Berniego Versaillesa z Agent Steel oraz perkusisty Jasona Rullo, z Michaelem Romeo odpowiedzialnym za aranżacje symfoniczne. Mythiasin opuścił zespół w 2003 roku, wtedy też Ray Alder zgodził się zostać pełnoetatowym wokalistą Redemption, biorąc wkrótce udział w nagraniach albumu Fullness of Time. Grupa towarzyszyła Dream Theater w amerykańskiej trasie Systematic Chaos Tour, supportując swój drugi album, The Origins of Ruin. Formed back in early 1996, Irredemption have had always serious problems with line-up, which was not established until the end of the year, when the band decide to record their first demo, Erroneous God.
