Aretha Franklin (ur. 25 marca 1942 w Memphis, TN - zm. 16 sierpnia 2018 w Detroit)) - afroamerykańska piosenkarka, obdarzona tytułem Queen of Soul (ang Królowa Soulu). Swym głębokim, ciepłym głosem i zdolnością interpretacji zwiększyła popularność gatunku soul. Artystka śpiewała też w innych stylach, począwszy od tanecznego popu, pulsującego funku, gospel do wokalnego jazzu. W 1987 Aretha Franklin została wprowadzona do Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Była matka chrzestną Whitney Houston[9]. W 2010 zdiagnozowano u niej raka. Zespół lekarzy orzekł, że jest to rak nieoperacyjny[8]. Adam Franklin is a guitarist, singer and songwriter who has played in Swervedriver (1989-99, 2007–present), Shake Appeal (1984-89), Toshack Highway (1999–2003) and currently releases records as Adam Franklin and tours with live band Bolts of Melody.
