Cannibal Corpse - amerykański zespół grający death metal. Powstał w 1988 roku w Buffalo w stanie New York. Pierwszy skład tworzyli: wokalista Chris Barnes, gitarzyści Bob Rusay i Jack Owen, basista Alex Webster oraz Paul Mazurkiewicz na perkusji. Zespół od początku swojego istnienia prezentował bezprecedensowy, brutalny death metal, co słychać głównie na pierwszych czterech albumach. Wielki wpływ na taką muzykę miał wcześniej wspomniany Chris Barnes (odszedł z zespołu w 1995 na rzecz własnego projektu Six Feet Under). Corpsessed powstał w 2007 roku po rozpadzie fińskiego Skullfucker. Zespół stworzyli: wokalista Niko Matilainen, bass/gitara Matti Mäkelä (Tyranny, Wormphlegm), pałker Jussi-Pekka Manner (Pohjoinen Kuri) i gitarzysta Jyri Lustig (Cardinals Folly). Rozpoczęto nagrywanie bluźnierczego death metalu. Z nieznanych przyczyn w 2009 odchodzi basista Mikko Mäkelä, którego prędko zamienia inny Miko, tyle że Pöllä (Azure). Potem znów dołącza do zespołu. Only Because of the strong influence of horror on these three genres, there exists considerable overlaps however none of these genres define this band.
