Johann Christoph Friedrich (later: von) Schiller (November 10, 1759 – May 9, 1805), was a German poet, philosopher, historian, and dramatist. Friedrich Daniel Rudolf Kuhlau (September 11, 1786 – March 12, 1832) was a German-Danish composer during the Classical and Romantic periods. Born in Germany, after losing his right eye in a street accident at the age of seven, he studied piano in Hamburg. His father, grandfather, and uncle were military oboists. Even though Kuhlau was born to a poor family, his parents managed to pay for pianoforte lessons. In 1810, he fled to Copenhagen to avoid conscription in the Napoleonic Army, which overwhelmed the many small principalities and duchies of northern Germany, and in 1813 he became a Danish citizen....

Georg Friedrich Haas (ur. 1953 w Grazu) - kompozytor austriacki. Jego utwory bazują na mikrotonalności i wykorzystaniu elementów muzyki spektralnej (np. szeregów alikwotowych). Po ukończeniu Musikhochschule w Grazu w zakresie kompozycji (Gösta Neuwirth, Ivan Eröd), fortepianu (Doris Wolf) i pedagogiki muzycznej, do 1997 r. wykładał na macierzystej uczelni kontrapunkt, współczesne techniki kompozytorskie, analizę muzyczną i muzykę mikrotonalną. Jednocześnie kontynuował studia kompozytorskie u Friedricha Cerhy w Wiedniu (1981-83), uczestniczył także w kursach darmsztadzkich (1980, 88, 90) i stażu informatyki muzycznej w paryskim IRCAM (1991). Carl Friedrich Abel (1723–1787) was a German composer. He was a fine player on the viola da gamba, and composed important music for that instrument. Abel was born on 22nd December 1723 in Cöthen, the son of Christian Ferdinand Abel, the principal viola da gamba and cello player in the court orchestra of Johann Sebastian Bach. On Bach's recommendation, in 1748 he was able to join Johann Adolph Hasse's court orchestra at Dresden where he remained for ten years.
