Slade – brytyjski zespół glam rockowy załozony w roku 1966, który w latach 70-tych, obok Gary'ego Glittera, zyskał największą popularność zarówno w Wielkiej Brytanii, jak i na światowych rynkach muzycznych. W Wielkiej Brytanii najbardziej znany utwór grupy Slade to Merry Xmas Everybody (z grudnia 1973 r.), chociaż w Polsce bardziej popularne były ballady Far Far Away i Everyday. The Slades were a vocal group from Austin Texas, and attended McCallum High School. Personnel included John Goeke, Don Burch, Tommy Kaspar, Bobby Doyle, and Jimmy Davis. Their second recording for Domino records was their biggest; "You Cheated" peaked at number 42 in 1958 on the Billboard charts. It was the original recording of the song, recorded before the Los Angeles based Shields covered it. The Shields had the bigger hit with it. The Slades record was still popular enough to earn them a spot on American Bandstand though. .

Arthur Greenslade (4 May 1923, Northfleet, Kent - 27 November 2003 Sydney, Australia) is a British conductor and arranger for films and television as well as a for a number of performers. In the 1950s he was pianist / arranger with the Oscar Rabin Band. He has arranged for Jack Jones, Chris Farlowe, Serge Gainsbourg, Cat Stevens, Diana Ross. and Dusty Springfield. For Shirley Bassey he famously arranged Goldfinger and Send in the Clowns.
