Ornatos Violeta to były portugalski zespół pochodzący z Porto.
Zespół został założony w 1991r., rozpadł się jedenaście lat później w 2002r. Grupa łączyła alternatywny rock z wpływem takich gatunków jak sky czy jazz.
Zespół ma na swoim koncie tylko dwa albumy "Cão!" (Pies!) z 1997r. i "O Monstro Precisa de Amigos" (Potwór potrzebuje przyjaciół) z 1999r.
Skład zespołu to Manel Cruz (wokal), Nuno Prata (bas), Peixe (gitara), Kinörn (perkusja) i Elísio Donas (klawisze).
