When, to projekt muzyczny norweskiego wykonawcy - Larsa Pedersena, który urodził się w późnych latach 50tych. W 1983 roku, Pedersen założył kapelę o nazwie Hospital Blimp, która później stała się When. Pierwszy album zatytułowany Drowning But Learning został wypuszczony w 1987. Od tamtego czasu Pedersen wydał pod szyldem When dwanaście albumów, jeden singiel oraz jedną kompilację.
