HEAVYWEIGHT powstało w 1999r, w Poznaniu. Muzycy dwóch kapel Arathorn i Helter, które powoli kończyły działalność postanowili połączyć siły, dając nowemu tworowi nazwę Heavyweight, a nazwa ta wpadła w oko pierwszemu bębniarzowi grupy, gdy oglądał na ekranie tv walkę Andrzeja Gołoty.
