Lucky Star opowiada o życiu codziennym kilku dziewcząt chodzących do liceum nazywającego się Ryōō. Akcja dzieje się w mieście Kasukabe w prefekturze Saitama pomiędzy rokiem 2006, a 2008. Główną bohaterką tego anime jest Konata Izumi, będąca wysportowaną i inteligentną dziewczyną Jej hobbym jest oglądanie anime, czytanie mang oraz granie w gry (głównie gatunku visual novel oraz MMORPG). Akcja rozgrywa się od rozpoczęcia nauki w liceum, aż do jej ukończenia. Jej przyjaciółkami są Kagami Hiiragi, Tsukasa Hiiragi oraz Miyuki Takara. Lucky Soul to założony w 2005 roku zespół pochodzący z Wielkiej Brytanii. Pierwszym singlem grupy jest utwór "My Brittle Heart / Give Me Love". Debiutancka płyta Lucky Soul zatytułowana "The Great Unwanted" została wydana 9 kwietnia 2007 roku.
