Oasis [1991-2009] to angielska grupa rockowa założona w Manchester, UK w 1991, są przedstawicielami nurtu brit pop. Grupa pierwotnie znana jako "The Rain". Zespół założyli: Liam Gallagher (wokal), Paul "Guigsy" McGuigan (gitara basowa), Paul "Bonehead" Arthurs (gitara rytmiczna) oraz Tony McCarroll (perkusja). Później do grupy dołączył starszy brat Liam'a, Noel Gallagher (gitara prowadząca, wokal, przed dołączeniem do zespołu The Rain podróżował z bandą Inspiral Carpets jako roadie). Noel przystąpił do zespołu - stawiając warunek iż tylko on będzie autorem piosenek, wkrótce nazwę The Rain zastąpiono Oasis - inspiracją do zmiany był napis na plakacie reklamującym Inspiral Carpets.
