Początki nowojorskiego duetu Fischerspooner sięgają 1998 roku. Nazwa projektu wywodzi się bezpośrednio od nazwisk jego założycieli - Warrena Fischera i Caseya Spoonera. Ich twórczość to połączenie electro popu (przywołującego na myśl dokonania Kraftwerk, wczesny Depeche Mode oraz Gary'ego Numana) z nowoczesnym programmingiem. Debiutancki album Fischerspooner, "#1" (pierwotnie zatytułowany "Best Album Ever"), ukazał się w kilku labelach, w tym w International DJ Gigolo (2001), Ministry of Sound (2002) i Capitol Records (2003).
