hautlle is based in rural Kansas, USA. He has been making music since childhood when he started playing the drums in fourth grade. He began experimenting with electronic music in 1998.

His first two EP's were only given away to friends and family, but were later released as the album Broken Past. He also released an EP titled "We Got This" as part of Project168 part 4. Both of these are now available for free at http://hautlle.bandcamp.com.

His first EP to be non-self released was titled "Boundaries Destroyed" and was released by Complex Sound Sagacity on October 23, 2010.

All of hautlle's 2011 releases were part of compilation albums. January saw the release of his version of the Snake Man theme from Mega Man 3 on Karakasa Music's Tribute to Mega Man titled Mega Man Renaissance. In March of 2011 CSS paired up with Karakasa to release the Karakasa Vs CSS ~ Collabs Volume 1 which featured the track The Approximation of a Number of Dreams. The following June saw the release of Altered Plug on Recession Recordings charity compilation album titled "Bring Back Before", which was put together to help the victims of the Joplin, Missouri tornado. August saw the release of yet another track with World's Most Records Tribute to Nikola Tesla. November brought another net-label compilation album when Zanderhythm released Clochard Digitale featuring the hautlle track "Rue Folk".
