1.
Sonora, also known as Sonora Longoria, is a producer of Latin and third world/global bass music who resides in San Antonio, Texas. He released his debut EP, “Siempre Fresco,” in September of 2010 through the label Peligrosa, since then he has had other releases through Dutty Artz, Friends of Friends, Man Recordings, Sounds Of Sumo, and Mad Decent.

The "cumbia child" Sonora has accomplished quite a few projects with global artists, one being for his "Remezcla" EP series where he takes on remixing and recording with carioca bass diva Zuzuka Poderosa. The album recieved a great review by MTV in which they stated:

"her souped-up Brazilian chatter collides head-on with Sonora’s Latin-flavored bass. As you might imagine, sparks fly everywhere and stuff catches on fire."

"Sonora found a way of taking those songs and making them more articulate. What comes out is something like tropical disco." - MTV Iggy

Currently he is working and wrapping up new remix projects with latin vocalist/mc, Boogat, and Oakland based Panamanian duo Los Rakas, and working on his releases with the crew and label "Peligrosa" as well as his debut album being the newest signee to "Little Owl Recordings"

"Sonora is definitely the most prolific producer that this whole new electropical scene has given us." - Remezcla Musica

Sonora was formed in Ottawa in 2000, by long time friends Wil Richardson (Lakeport Auto Electric), Jacob Earl, Dana Clow, and Shaun Peppy. They released their debut EP, "Road 44", in 2002. Though they have not performed live since 2004, they remain active as a recording band.
