“Low Rock” is a unique combination of jazz, blues and pop/rock, sung with darkly comic and ironic lyrics. Genre name coined by the late Morphine front man, Mark Sandman, is low in key - Morphine having baritone sax, baritone vocals, and bass and drums. "Low" could also be taken to mean under-the-radar as it was never main stream - even for alternative rock - or sparse, as it focuses on minimalist instrumentation. .
