Bloomington, Indiana via Boston-based group best known for the single "Designer Genes", their contribution to the seminal post-punk compilation Red Snerts: The Sound of Gulcher (Gulcher Records, 1981). Members were Rick Wilkerson (vocals, synthesizer), Lynn Shipley (vocals), Rich Lampear (bass), and Bruce Demaree (drums). Amoebas in Chaos recorded one full length, On the May Day (Hardly Music, 1982), before dissolving in 1983. .
From the demise of Calgary's No Coast Hardcore comes new local heroes The Tartan Hearts. The band came together in late 2004 and started meshing new material together that fans of Celtic Punk Rock n' Roll will be certain to love. The Tartan Hearts will be hitting stages all over Western Canada The time has come.... the countdown begins Fire the pipes! UPDATE: The Tartan Hearts are no more. Tartanic has been through many line-up changes over the years. Co-founder Richard Kean left the band to pursue other interests (Teribus, Needfire). Stuart Clements went on to work for NASA. Adrian Walter continues to work under the name Tartanic with new pipers & drummers, playing the occasional renaissance festival and highland games events.
