The Fibonaccis rose out of the early-'80s punk scene in Los Angeles, CA. Drawing from a wide range of influences including film scores, circus music, as well as an interest in bizarre pop culture in general, the band took their name after Leonardo Fibonacci, the 14th Century Italian mathematician. The group's first lineup consisted of Magie Song (vocals, percussion), John Dentino (keyboards), Joe Berardi (drums, percussion), and Ron Stringer (guitar, bass). Fibonaccis' first record was released in 1982 on the Index label, (fi'-bo-na'-chez). Mixing their many influences, the band emerged with intelligent keyboard passages, over-the-top vocals, and surf-influenced guitar work....

Patricia Petibon, a native of France, received her bachelor’s degree in musicology and later studied at the Paris Conservatory with Rachel Yakar and Anne-Marie Rodde. She received the Conservatory’s first prize in 1995, and during the 1996-97 season she came to public attention in the revival of Rameau’s Hippolyte et Aricie at the Paris Opera. Last season, Ms. Petibon appeared in Dialogues des Carmélites at the Paris Opera, performed in Chabrier’s Le Roi malgré lui at Avery Fisher Hall with the American Symphony Orchestra, and sang Mélisande in Pelléas et Mélisande for the Lyon Opera and in New York. There are at least four bands that share the name Eibon. 1) Eibon is a French (Paris) doom/sludge act featuring Drowning's bass player Stephane and guitarist Georges on vocals, together with Jerome (drums), a former band mate of Stephane's from his days in legendary pioneering French doom-metal band Garden of Silence. Jerome was also a member of doom veterans Astral Rising. The line-up is completed by long-time friend Max on guitars.
