Mesut Cemil (December 1902 - 31 October 1963) was a Turkish musician, the son of Tanburi Cemil Bey.

He was a master tanbur player, but also performed and recorded on many instruments, including cello, ud, kemence, lavta, violin, viola, baglama, and other Turkish folk instruments. He was a choir director and an ethnomusicologist who revised some traditional pieces of Turkish music and interpreted them successfully.

Mesut Cemil didn't leave many compositions; however, we now know his semai in "makam nihavend" and a short longa in "makam sehnaz". Apart from these, he was known much more for his improvisational pieces, many of which exist in recordings. .
