Ziad Al Rahbani | ms

Elias Rahbani is a Lebanese Lyrical Author, Composer, Orchestra arranger & conductor. Born in 1938, in Antelias, Lebanon, he is one of the three Rahbani brothers and is probably the most prolific in terms of recordings. He is a promoter of the Lebanese vague of Occidental song (since 1961) specially French, and has won numerous awards and much critical acclaim for his works. He has composed around 800 pieces (500 oriental & 300 occidental), not including musical scores for film and theater. .
Karim Ziad (b. 1966) is an Algerian jazz drummer and percussionist, who also sings and plays guitar and gimbri (a three-stringed plucked lute originating in West Africa, but now traditional in Moroccan adn Algerian music). Born and brought up in Algeria, Ziad moved to Paris when he was twenty, and quickly became involved with the jazz and "world-music" scene there. The Rahbani Brothers (Arabic: الأخوان رحباني) were Lebanese composers, musicians, songwriters, authors, playwrights/dramatists, philosophers and poets. Assi Rahbani (Arabic: عاصي الرحباني) was born on May 4, 1923 (died on 21st June 1986), and Mansour Rahbani (Arabic: منصور الرحباني) in 1925. They are known for their huge repertoire of works with the Lebanese diva Fairuz. Assi was Fairuz's husband from 1955 until his death.
