Second-Hand Furniture was formed 2003. The band was first named Galaxy Gramophone, but changed the name to Second-Hand Furniture when the singer Miralda Madar Johansson joined the band and when they'd found their sound. After the first cd-r (self titled, 2003, 100 copies)was given away for free to indiepop-lovers, the first cd-r was later released by Yellow Mica Recordings, and the second cd-r "Nice Try, Sunshine EP" was released a few months later at Smashing Time Rec. In 2004 Second-Hand Furniture reached its peak with a handful of gigs around Sweden and a vinyl release at Fabulous Friends Records, Everything...
There are currently two bands with the name Furniture: 1) A British new wave band 2) A Malaysian rock band 1. Furniture (UK 1979 - 1991) A British new wave band formed in Ealing, UK in 1979 and active until 1991. Furniture’s following came from the UK and parts of Eastern Europe. They released two studio albums, The Wrong People in 1986 and Food, Sex & Paranoia in 1989, and a compilation album in 1991, She Gets Out The Scrapbook. Furniture Huschle is the (sometimes) solo project of Wckr Spgt frontman Joel Huschle. Was quite prolific in the mid 1990s, with multiple cassette releases on his short-lived label "Car in Car Disco Product" which folded in 1997. Some tracks are floating about the internet. John Darnielle of The Mountain Goats will incorporate a cover every now and then into his live shows. There is some talk of a retrospective being released in the near future, but that is actually a blatant lie. .
