There have been many bands called Stretch (over 20 listed at Discogs.com) including: [1] Stretch is a rock band from the United Kingdom that grew from the collaboration between Elmer Gantry (real name Dave Terry) and Kirby (real name Graham Gregory) and was most popular in 1970s. Gantry was previously the frontman of Elmer Gantry's Velvet Opera. Kirby was previously a member of Curved Air. Stretch was a British outfit who recorded for the Anchor label. Stretch Marks, along with Personality Crisis, were at the forefront of the Winnepeg punk scene in the eighties. Mixing a love for wrestling with Minor Threat-style hardcore, they put out a 7" on their own Headbutt label in 1983 and toured Canada and the United States. Stretch Arm Strong was a Hardcore-influenced punk rock band from South Carolina, U.S.A. that were the flagship band for We Put Out Records. They're perhaps best known for their 2005 tune "The Sound of Names Dropping" as well as their tongue-in-cheek cover of the dance tune "Get This Party Started", released in 2002. Formed by former members of strait up, were active from about 1992 to about 2010.
