Dawes is an American rock band from Malibu, California. Two members, Taylor Goldsmith and Wylie Gelber, were originally from the band Simon Dawes. They branched off in 2009, now playing with Griffin Goldsmith and Tay Strathairn, to compile Americana/Soul music in the band Dawes. Their debut album, "North Hills", was released in 2009. In his early childhood he experimented with keyboards before picking up his first electric guitar at 12. Instantly taking to the guitar, Mike quickly became involved with the local music scene, involving himself in numerous bands and projects. In 2003, at 13, Mike reached the semi-finals of Jimmy Page's 'Riffathon' competition. Born in 1970, Patrick Dawes works as a percussionist and music producer on a wide array of projects. Patrick studied kit drums from the age of eight and later percussion and has been working professionally since 1993. He initially played in clubs as a percussionist alongside dj's. It involved long, joyful sessions of raw and energetic drumming throughout the night before driving home at sunrise.
