Andrea Bocelli (born in 1958 in Lajatico, Tuscany, Italy) is an Italian tenor, multi-instrumentalist and classical crossover artist. Born with poor eyesight, he became blind at the age of twelve following a football accident. A disciple of Luciano Pavarotti and Zucchero Fornaciari, the blind, Tuscany-born, vocalist has emerged as one of the most exciting voices in contemporary opera. Matteo da Perugia [Matheus de Perusio] (d. in or before Jan. 1418) was a Medieval Italian composer, presumably from Perugia. From 1402-1407 he was the first magister cappellae of the Milan Cathedral. His duties included being cantor and teaching three boys selected by the Cathedral deputies. He was at the papal court in Bologna from 1409 to 1414. Little is known about his life apart from this.
