Jacula is an Italian progressive rock band from the early 1970's, born mainly from as an experiment of the occultist Antonio Bartoccetti (Antonius Rex), Doris Norton, organist Charles Tiring and medium Franz Porthenzy. Formed in 1981 by Rozz Williams and performance artist Ron Athey, the band only had a short initial lifespan. This was in part due to their live performances which were so controversial and revolting that the duo soon found themselves unable get any more bookings (on one occasion Athey ate and regurgitated a recently deceased cat on stage).
