Flipper is an influential punk rock band from San Francisco, USA, forming in 1979 from the ruins of punk bands Sleepers and Negative Trend, and continuing in often erratic fashion to this day. They are also associated with the post-punk and noise rock genres. Die Flippers (The Flippers) are a German Schlager group from Baden-Württemberg formed in 1964. They are one of the most successful Schlager groups ever, and have been constantly recording and releasing new music since their self-titled debut album (which was released in 1970). In total they have released 45 albums, 5 of which have gone platinum, 24 gold. They won a Goldene Stimmgabel( "golden tuning fork" ,one of the most important German music awards) in 1988, 1991, 1994, 1995, 1996, 1998, 1999, 2000, 2002, 2003 and 2004. .

Flipp is the bizarre brainchild borne of schizo singer Brynn Arens and drummer Kilo Bale when the pair made an impromptu video of the Who's perennial "My Generation" that accidentally received a huge reaction. Brother and multi-instrumentalist Chia Karaoke Arens and bassist Freaky Useless joined the resulting ride, and the quartet honed their riotous stage act which consisted of (but was not limited to) dumping Flipp cereal on the audience and pulling unsuspecting onlookers onstage to perform.
