The Cavedogs (Todd Spahr, Mark Rivers and Brian Stevens) played their first gig as the Cavedogs at the Rat in Kenmore square some time in Novemeber of 1985. They played their last gig at the Paradise just down the road from the Rat in August of 1992. Waldir Azevedo was born in Rio de Janeiro on the 27th of January 1923. Passed away on the 21st of Setember 1980. A "choro" pioneer, master of the "cavaquinho", and composer of the choro "Brasileirinho". Waldir was the first composer to place the cavaquinho (tiny 4 string guitar, smaller than a viola) into a leading role with complex solos.
