エンニオ・モリコーネ（Ennio Morricone, 1928年11月10日 - ）はイタリアの作曲家である。映画音楽で特に知られる。
《略歴》
ローマで生まれ、ローマの聖チェチーリア音楽院でゴッフレド・ペトラッシ (Goffredo Petrassi)に作曲技法を学んだ後、作曲家としてテレビ・ラジオ等の音楽を担当した。
1950年代末から映画音楽の作曲、編曲、楽曲指揮をしている。映画音楽家デビューは、『歌え!太陽』（Appuntamento a Ischia、1960年）だと言われていたが、オリジナルのスコアを使用した映画は『ファシスト』（Il Federale、1961年、ルチアーノ・サルチェ (Luciano Salce) ）であり、こちらがデビュー作だと言われるようになっている。
1960年代は映画監督セルジオ・レオーネ (Sergio Leone) とのコンビでいわゆる「マカロニ・ウェスタン」作品で存在感を増していった（レオーネとのコンビは彼の遺作である1984年の『ワンス・アポン・ア・タイム・イン・アメリカ』まで続いた）。1986年、ローランド・ジョフィ (ローランド・ジョフィ)監督のイギリス映画『ミッション』で、新たな境地を切り開き、それ以後はイタリア以外からも評価が高まり、1987年には『アンタッチャブル』でグラミー賞を受賞、1989年には『ニュー・シネマ・パラダイス』で世界的にも高い知名度を得た。『天国の日々』 (1978年)、『ミッション』 (1986年)、『アンタッチャブル』 (1987年) 、『バグジー』(1991年) 、『マレーナ』(2000年) でアカデミー賞にノミネートされている。日本でも、2003年にNHKの大河ドラマ『武蔵 MUSASHI』の音楽を担当している。
2007年、第79回アカデミー賞において名誉賞を受賞した。
大変な早寝早起きであり、午後9時には就寝し、午前5時には起きて作曲を行っているという。
