Buck Clayton (born Wilbur Dorsey Clayton in Parsons, Kansas on November 12, 1911-died in New York City on December 8, 1991) was an American jazz trumpet player, fondly remembered for being a leading member of Count Basie’s 'Old Testament' orchestra and leader of mainstream orientated jam session recordings in the 1950s. His principal influence was Louis Armstrong. The “Penguin Guide to Jazz on CD” says that he “synthesi[zed] much of the history of jazz trumpet up to his own time, with a bright brassy tone and an apparently limitless facility for melodic improvisation”. .

リチャード・クレイダーマン（英語：Richard Clayderman、1953年12月28日 - ）はフランスのピアニストである。本名はフィリップ・ロベール・ルイ・パジェス（仏語：Philippe Pagès）。 1953年12月28日、パリ郊外のロマンヴィルで生まれる。幼少時よりピアノに親しみ5歳にして作曲を始め、学校の教科書よりも楽譜の方がよく読めたという。 16歳でコンセルバトワール首席卒業。その後、最終的にポピュラー音楽の道を選び、初めはスタジオ・ミュージシャンや有名歌手のバック・オーケストラのピアニストを勤めていた。 そんなある日、クレイダーマンの評判を聞きつけたプロデューサーからポール・ドゥ・センヌヴィルとオリヴィエ・トゥッサンが行うオーディションの誘いが来る。それは、音楽が過激に走っていく時代にあえてシンプルで美しいメロディーの普遍性を訴える新しいキャラクターによるピアニストを探しているところで芸名も「リチャード・クレイダーマン」、デビュー曲も「渚のアデリーヌ Ballade pour Adeline」と決まっていたという。そこで集まった約20人の中からピアノのテクニック、音楽性、そして容姿のいずれにおいても優れていたのがクレイダーマンで、センヌヴィルが設立した新しいレコード会社「デルファン」から1976年、「渚のアデリーヌ」でレコードデビューした。フランスではそれほど注目されなかったが、その後当時の西ドイツのあるテレビ・ドラマの主題曲に使われたことにより全西独シングル・ヒット・チャートの第1位に輝き、これを契機にスペイン周辺の国々でもヒットし逆輸入の形でフランスでもヒットした。 この話を聞き、当時のビクター音楽産業（現・ビクターエンタテインメント）がデルファン社とクレイダーマンに関する日本での独占販売契約を締結（これは現在でも続いている）。1978年、日本で初めて彼のレコードが発売されると直ぐに評判になったという。1980年には日本で初のコンサートを開き、「ニュー・イージーリスニング・ミュージック」として注目されるようになった。 以来、毎年5月前後に日本でコンサートを行うほか年300日はコンサートをしており、ギネス記録に認定された。劇場版アニメ『綿の国星』のテーマ曲を演奏している。 特に日本でその名を初めて広めたのは1981年のシーボン化粧品のCMで流れた「愛のコンチェルト」であり、このCMは当時頻繁に流れたが中でもフジテレビの『笑ってる場合ですよ!』の番組後半や『FNNニュースレポート6:00』で流れたこのCMは当時の番組視聴者の主婦層を中心に絶大なインパクトを与え、たとえ曲のタイトルを知らなくても曲を聴けば「あの化粧品の曲だ」とわかるほどであった。1982年には「星のセレナーデ」に岸田智史と下田逸郎が歌詞をのせ、「潮風のセレナーデ」のタイトルで岸田がカヴァーした。 オリジナル曲は、センヌヴィルやプロデューサーのトゥッサン作曲のものが多い。 他のアーティストとの共演も行っており、アルバムではロイヤルフィルハーモニー管弦楽団（『ピアノ・ラプソディ』 1985年）、ジェームス・ラスト・オーケストラ（『木漏れ日の詩』 1991年）、レイモン・ルフェーブル・グランド・オーケストラ（『郷愁の詩』 1995年4月21日）との共演盤がある。 .
