ジムクラスヒーローズ（Gym Class Heroes）は、ニューヨーク、ジェネヴァ（Geneva, NY）出身の4人組から成るヒップホップ系のバンド。代表曲としては"Qupid's Choke Hold"(アルバム"The Papercut Chronicles") "The Queen and I(アルバム"As Cruel As School Children)"が挙げられる。便利なループ・サウンドやプレ・レコードビートの代わりにライブ・インストルメントを使用するところが、Stetsasonic、 The Roots や Crown City Rockersなどのアーティストと似ている。
＜結成までのいきさつ＞
もともと、1997年地元ジェネヴァの高校でとった体育の授業中、トラビス・マッコイ（Travis McCoy）とドラマーのマット・マギンレー（Matt McGinley）が意気投合したところへギタリストのミロ・ボナッチ（Milo Bonacci）とベーシストのライアン・ギース （Ryan Geise）が加わったところから始まる。最初、GCH（Gym Class Heroesの略称）は、個人の誕生日パーティ、クラブや祝祭イベントなどで活動していたが、2003～'04年のワープトツアー（Warped Tour）含め、やがて合衆国北東部を中心に多くの大規模な成功を収めることとなった。
このあいだ、GCHは4枚のセルフプロデュースCDを発表している。1999年のヘッド・キャンディ（"Hed Candy"）、2000年のグリーシー・キッズ・スタッフ（"Greasy Kids Stuff"）、2001年のフォー・ザ・キッズ（"For the Kids"）、2004年のペーパーカット・クロニクルズEP（"Papercut Chronicles EP"）である。フォー・ザ・キッズをリリース後、リードボーカルのトラビス・マッコイはMTVのダイレクト・エフェクト・MCバトルで優勝した栄誉としてStyles Pのプロモビデオ、ダディ・ゲット・ザット・キャッシュ（"Daddy Get That Cash"）に出演した。
現在のメンバー構成は2004年終わりにできたもので、ギタリスト、ディサシ・ルマンバ-カソンゴ（Disashi Lumumba-Kasongo）、ベーシスト、エリック・ロバーツ（Eric Roberts）加入後のことである。よって、ライアン・ギース、ミロ・ボナッチなどは元メンバーということになる。

The Heroes are an Indie/Mod/Punk band formed in Leicester during April 07. They have had a number of member changes, but found the right line up in August 09. Their main influences are The Libertines, The Jam and The Clash, but there are elements and influences from much more.
