With radio friendly AOR super-groups such as Bad English and Damn Yankees receiving commercial success, former Thin Lizzy guitarist Scott Gorham decided to form a similar type band and hope for stardom.
Gorham recruited fellow Americans Tommy La Verdi (vocals), Leif Johansen (bass), and Michael Sturgis (drums). By 1992 they had been signed to RCA records and released a well-polished AOR album that received rave reviews, but went relatively unnoticed by the record buying public. Stick to Your Guns is a 5 piece hardcore band from Orange County, California. Very heavily influenced by the orange county hardcore scene, their music, message, style, and sound can perhaps be compared to bands like Bleeding Through and Throwdown.
Currently they are signed to Century Media/Sumerian Records and have released four full-length albums to date.

ロサンゼルスのクラブ・シーンでアクセル・ローズとともに「ガンズ・アンド・ローゼズ」を結成していたギタリストのトレイシー・ガンズが自らのバンドを組むため離脱。 イギリスのバンド「ガール」のヴォーカリストだったフィリップ･ルイスとともに新バンド「L.A.ガンズ」を結成する。
リーダーでギターに元ガンズ・アンド・ローゼズのトレイシー、ヴォーカルに元ガールのフィリップ、ベースに元ファスター・プッシーキャットのケリー・ニケルスと名のあるメンバーで構成されたバンドはデビュー前から注目を集めていた。 その勢いのまま1988年の1stアルバム、翌1989年の2ndアルバムもプラチナムを獲得する。
しかし1991年以降のミュージック・シーンの変貌・ハードロックの衰退からバンド活動も低迷し始め、1995年にはトレイシーと共にバンドの顔だったフィリップが脱退。 トレイシーを残しバンドはメンバー・チェンジを繰り返すこととなる。
1999年に全盛期である1980年代のメンバーで再結成。 しかし2002年にバンドのリーダーであるトレイシーが尊敬するモトリー・クルーのニッキー・シックスと共に「ブライズ・オブ・ディストラクション」を結成するために脱退。 バンドはフィリップを中心に活動していく。
「ブライズ・オブ・ディストラクション」を脱退したトレイシーはフィリップの「L.A.ガンズ」とは別に2006年から自らの「L.A.ガンズ」を結成。 二つの「L.A.ガンズ」がシーンで活動するという複雑な様相を呈していたが、2008年にトレイシーの「L.A.ガンズ」は解散。
現在の「L.A.ガンズ」はフィリップを中心に活動している。

The Pretty Blue Guns are a South African garage/indie/blues band.
They have 3 official releases: Dirt EP (2008), Cutting Heads (2009) and Shed Your Skin (2011)
The title track of their most recent album "Shed Your Skin" reached number 1 on 5fm's local rock chart, as well as number 1 on MK (South African music TV)'s alternative music top ten.
They have toured SA extensively and played most of the festivals there.
Frontman Andre Leo and drummer Lucas Swart recently began a new psych-rock project called The Very Wicked. .
