ゴッドスマック（Godsmack）は、1995年に結成したアメリカのヘヴィメタルバンド。 SULLY ERNAサリー・エルナ（V）、TONY ROMBOLAトニー・ロンボラ（G）、ROBBY MERRILLロビー・メリル（B）、SHANNON LARKINシャノン・ラーキン（D）ボストン出身の4人組。 1994年に解散したストリップ・マインドのドラマーであったサリー・エルナが旧友と共にバンド活動を行い、幾度にもわたるメンバー変遷を経てゴッドスマックは形成された。 自主制作で作られたアルバム『ゴッドスマック』を地元のCDショップにおいて販売を開始した所大反響を受け、ローカル規模ながら着実にその基盤を築いていくのだが、その同じ頃、元エクストリームのポール・ギアリーが彼らに目を止め、彼が運営するマネージメントと契約、その後ユニバーサル傘下のリパブリック・レーベルとの契約が成立、1998年にメジャー・デビュー・アルバム『ゴッドスマック』を発表。 最終的にこのアルバムは全米のみで300万枚を越すセールスを記録しているのだが、これは瞬間的にセールスを記録したのではなく、発表後チャートから姿を消す事なく売り上げを伸ばして行った、というとてつもない強度を持って積み重ねてきたものである。 オジー・オズボーン主宰による《オズフェスト》への参加、1999年の《ウッドストック'99》などに出演し、その圧倒的なステージングで人気を爆発させている。フロントマンのサリーのカリスマ性も巨大化しつづける。まだチャートにファースト・アルバムが居座り続ける2000年10月、早くもセカンド・アルバムである『アウェイク』を発表、ここからのシングル「アウェイク」がヒットを飛ばし、数々のフェスティヴァル（《タトゥー・ジ・アース》など）に出演し、完璧なまでに全米での地位を確立する。 2002年、映画スコーピオン・キングのサントラでリード・トラック「アイ・スタンド・アローン」が大ヒットし、その流れで2003年4月に3rd　アルバム『フェイスレス』をリリース。全米トータル・アルバム・セールスは1000万枚を超え、いまや超モンスター級のバンドとして君臨している。 .

Four piece brutal oi punk band from Hertfordshire, UK. Formed in 2004. Their first album was recorded in 2005 and was followed by a split in the band until they were booked, by popular demand, to play a local charity festival in 2011 called 'Balstock'. Smackos is one of the aliases under which Danny Blanco (of Legowelt fame) releases his music. Smackos has released two albums so far, 'The Age of Candy Candy' (2004) and 'Waiting for the Red Bear' (2006), both on Blanco's own record label Strange Life.
