アドリブに天才ぶりを発揮した白人テナーの最高峰　（1927～1991） 　ジャズ史上最高の白人テナー・サックス奏者。27年フィラデルフィアで生まれ、ニューヨークで育つ。16歳でプロ・デビューし、メロディアスなアドリブが特徴のレスター・ヤング（ts）から影響を受けた。ウディ・ハーマン楽団のサックス・セッション“フォー・ブラザーズ”の一員として人気を博し、49年からは自己のバンドを率いて活躍。クール・ジャズ・スタイルから幅を広げ、ウォームでホットな演奏も聴かせるようになる。一時渡欧するが、60年代の前半にアメリカでボサ・ノヴァ・ブームの最大の功労者になる。その後は、一時期フュージョン的な要素も演奏に取り入れたが、再びストレートアヘッドなスタイルに戻り、91年に死去するまで精力的に音楽活動を続けた。 Dr.NAKAJIMA著 .

Nuages was a collaboration between Didier Delesalle (better known as Shazz) and Ludovic Navarre (most famous as St. Germain). They made "Blanc" EP in 1994 (F Communications) consisting mostly of deep house music with tracks like "No Work Today" and "Sfumato". .
