There are six artists on last.fm that go by the name Belmondo, from Netherlands, USA, Lithuania, Hungary, Belgium and Finland .

I. BELMONDO is a four-piece Indie-Guitar-Popband, founded in 2002 in Rotterdam/The Hague, Holland. They're specialized in guitar-pop songs and supported bands such as The Posies, Weezer, Supergrass , The Dears. They released their debut-album 'Sunday Needs an Aspirin' in 2003.

II. One of Pam Berry's many groups. This is what she says:

"I think Belmondo happened first, and it has almost always been me and Trish with a revolving line-up on the records. When we first started way back in the day we were all girlfriends of four guys in the same band, they were on tour for months at a time and we thought we'd show them what was what honeys style. Trish and I had been doing music things for a while but Amy and Maria picked up drums and bass from scratch and while it was a good time for a while, schlepping out to practice all the time in the summer heat soon lost its glamour for them. By the next time we recorded, the prolific and everstylish Chip Porter of Veronica Lake fame had moved from Michigan to DC and we did a couple of his songs for the K single."

That was the Lake Front 7", their only release apart from a split-flexi with Helen Love (the last flexi pressed in Englad!). Other than that they had a few songs on various compilations.


III. Also, there was a Lithuanian pop group named "Belmondo". It's leader was Aušrys „Tynta“ Kriščiūnas. The group ended it's life in 2000.

IV. Belmondo is also the name of a five-piece acoustic/indie/folk band from Maine. The group is known for its charismatic vocalist Jonathan Bailey, a leftie who plays his right-handed guitar upside-down. Female vocal harmonies and a viola give Belmondo their signature sound.

V. Belmondo, the hungarian band

Zoltán Czutor, after the split of the Hungarian underground band Nyers in January 2005, felt that he cannot live without being an active musician and without a band, thus he founded the band Belmondo in August 2005. The aims and success of the new group show much further than the previous band’s.

After founding the band, the primary and supreme goal was to make their 1st album and release it. When their first suspected hit track "Lesz, Volt, Van" was made, they shot a video for it. The song and the first image video reached so high success that both Viva TV and Radio Danubius played them in preferential rotation. The result of it was a nomination for the Viva Comet Award in the category of New Band of the Year. Meantime the first album was finished and released on 25 April 2006 with the title: "Él ilyen Alien". (it’s a Hungarian/English pun) For that time – thanks to the nomination for the Comet award and the high rotations on radios – they became well-known. In July 2006 they felt the time has come to shoot the second video. Before choosing the song, they held a poll, and having analysed both the votes of professionals and the audience the winner was the track "Mégis remél” (called Still Keep Pushing on the English version). The director was Pál Nánási, who is one of the most ambitious and most wanted photographers in Hungary. The song is available on TV, via internet and, of course in radios too.

VI. Belmondo is also the first name of a Belgian combo which released an eight-track demo before changing its name to Raymondo (two albums on the Matamore label).

VII. Belmondo was also a Finnish indie/rock group formed in the 90's. They released a few cassettes, and visited the national tv a couple of times.
