David Jon Gilmour CBE (Cambridge, Inghilterra, 6 marzo 1946), musicista e compositore britannico. Dal 1968 è il chitarrista dello storico gruppo inglese dei Pink Floyd. Subentrato a Syd Barrett, si è distinto per lo stile non virtuosistico ma di grande effetto. David Gilmour nacque e crebbe a Cambridge, dove conobbe Syd Barrett, un suo compagno di college. Assieme impararono a suonare la chitarra e passarono un periodo assieme in Francia a suonare per le strade e fare l'autostop.
