There are at least two bands called The Heartbeats: 1. The Heartbeats were a 1950s American doo-wop group best known for their song A Thousand Miles Away, which charted at #53 in 1957. Formed in the mid-1950s in Jamaica, Queens and originally called The Hearts, they switched in 1955 when a female group by the same name scored a minor billboard hit.
