I Maximum the Hormone si sono formati nel 1998 con Daisuke Tsuda (vocals) e Nawo Kawakita (drums, vocals), insieme ai non più presenti (all'interno della banda) Sugi e Key. Quando i due lasciarono la banda vennero reclutati nel 1999 rispettivamente Uehara Futoshi (bass guitar) e Ryo Kawakita (guitar), ovvero il fratello di Nawo.
