Initially called Aditie Populaire, Populär was a Hungarian synthpop band formed in 1989. The original lineup consisted of four members, each brought together by their love of Depeche Mode and Kraftwerk. It took seven years to mold their 1995 debut album, Új Arcok A Feszületen (New Faces On The Crucifix). The album was also overshadowed by fellow synthpop compatriots Bonanza Banzai.
