Liquid Soul is a jazz, funk, rap fusion ensemble from Chicago, Illinois which formed in 1994. It was founded by Mars Williams and Tommy Klein. The band's 2000 album Here's the Deal was nominated for a Grammy in the Best Contemporary Jazz Album category. Their first regular venue was at Chicago's Elbo Room, where their quickly-growing popularity led to the release of their debut album Liquid Soul by Ark 21 Records. Influenced by the Northern Soul sound of Tamla Motown, The Liquidators hail from the UK. Their music is a joyous mixture of house, funk and soul. Members of The Liquidators, Barry Island and Rob Banks used to be in punk band The Tights and have been influenced by classic Trojan reggae, Tamla Motown, Ska and 70s funk. LIQUID GREY has released two albums so far, the debute album " Grey Matter" which came out in 2011 and the EP " Love Under Will that came out in december 2013. A full length album is scheduled for release in march 2014.
