Gin Blossoms | it

The Cherry Blossoms are a 'shaggy folk collective' based in Nashville. They have described themselves as 'Middle Tennessee's finest anarchic post neo-skiffle collective specializing in kazoo-exotica'. Although they have occasionally been grouped under the 'New Weird America' label, they have not sought the commercial exposure of younger, more polished acts, preferring to stick to a rambling, underground sound. Their self-released recordings remain difficult to obtain. .
The Blossoms were probably the most successful unknown group of the '60s. Starting out as the Dreamers, the Blossoms were students at Fremont High School in Los Angeles and in 1954 they were discovered by singer Richard Berry at a school talent show. At that time the group consisted of Fanita James, sisters Annette and...

Idt, and Jacob Thiele. Icky Blossoms played their first live shows in the spring of 2011, at which time the band had plans to release some split albums and 7" releases with unnamed artists. .

The band originally consisted of Robin Wilson (vocals, guitar), Jesse Valenzuela (guitar, vocals), Doug Hopkins (guitar), Bill Leen (bass), and Phillip Rhodes (drums).
