I Placebo sono una rock band inglese formata da Brian Molko (voce, chitarra, tastiera), Steve Forrest (batteria) e Stefan Olsdal (basso, tastiera). La band nasce nel 1994, quando Brian Molko e Stefan Olsdal si incontrano casualmente a Londra. Inizialmente il batterista è Robert Schultzberg, ma dopo poco tempo viene sostituito da Steve Hewitt (1996).
