I Casiopea sono una band jazz fusion giapponese formata nel 1976 dal chitarrista Issei Noro, dal tastierista Minoru Mukaiya, dal bassista Tetsuo Sakurai e dal batterista Takashi Sasaki, nel 1980 entrerà nel gruppo anche il famoso batterista Akira Jimbo. Il gruppo debuttò con l'omonimo album Casiopea nel 1979, ed hanno realizzato 30 album fino ad oggi. The Occasional Flickers began as the solo project of Giorgos Bouras in Athens, Greece. With the help of some good friends they recorded their first 7″ single rain until monday 7", which was released in early 2003. After a long break, their debut album scattered songs recorded at Bouras’ bedroom was completed in 2006 and released in 2007 by the Peruvian indiepop label Plastilina Records. Even though it was awkwardly performed and recorded, scattered songs included some of their best songs. This is the duo of Chicago-based guitarists David Daniell and Douglas McCombs. Daniell is known as a solo artist and member of the trio San Agustin as well as many collaborations. McCombs is a member of Eleventh Dream Day, Pullman, Tortoise, and Brokeback, and has worked with artists such as Tom Zé, Azita, Will Oldham, Yo La Tengo, and Calexico.
