There are at least four bands with this name. 1st. positive melancholic band from Berlin. 2nd. This project is a musical collective series of improvisation, founded by Douglas Dickel (input_output, Blanched), inspired by Joshua Homme’s Desert Sessions. Hotel began in 2006 at the Live Studio, in Porto Alegre, when Dickel brought together musicians from the local indie & post-rock scene. Songs are written & recorded “on the spot”, simultaneously, and in matters of four hours. Hotel is the introducing of people to each other. The Black Hotels are an indie rock band from Johannesburg, South Africa.
