Formed in the late days of 2009 in the southern parts of Sweden, OLDFASHIONED IDEAS are heading into the new decade with great anticipation and strong belief that the future belongs to those who grab it. Including members from bands as Vindicate This! and Skunks United, we look back with respect at those who came before us as well as those around us, and always trying our best to carry on the legacy. The Fashionistas are a band in Brooklyn, NY who formed in Rochester, NY around 2004, in the basement of the legendary Kingsboro house - a part-time party venue that hosted bands like Que Pasa, Gak Attack!, Monkey Space Station, and Caboose At Last. The band started when drummer, Matt Nicole, began playing music with bassist, Peter Mulroy, when both of Nicole's legs were broken and in full casts. Eventually the duo, then called Calamari, put up flyers looking for a third bandmate. Tom Starkweather (guitar/vocals) responded. Leaving Calamari behind, the boys became J.D. Power & Associates, later changing their name...

Located in the Doncaster/Retford area, The Fashions were a young, catchy aspiring indie band, with a similar style to The Rakes, Embrace, Ocean Colour Scene, Maximo Park and The Futureheads. They dispanded on 31st May 2006 after losing the semi-final of a band contest in Worksop. Members were John Burton (g/v), Martin Greening (g/v), Ben Riley (b) and Matt Lister (d). .

There is more than one artist with this name, including an 80s new romantic/minimal synth act about which little is known, and a disco/funk act. The rest of this article refers to the latter. the band contained three members, Eric McClinton, Meli'sa Morgan and Alyson Williams, all vocalists that were picked and employed by Jacques Fred Petrus in New York that gave them a name associated to the fashion business.
