Mechagodzilla was formed in 1997 by young people aiming to make an horrific noise for a bit of a laugh. Their main influences were people unconvincingly dressed as monsters and loud fast things. Over the years very little has changed, apart from the line-up and some grey hairs. Mechagodzilla tread the fine line between inspired art, and a celebration of stupidity - more often than not the line becomes quite blurred, which is all part of the idea. Niraj Chag is a London-based musical artist and composer. He is known for his musical style which mixes Indian classical influences with contemporary stylings and layered, complex beats. Niraj's tracks were initially released on the Outcaste record label, which also featured Nitin Sawhney and other British Asian artists such as Badmarsh and Shri in the late 1990's. He has written and produced his own album 'Along the Dusty Road' which was released in late summer 2006 on the Buzz-erk label. He is currently working on a new album for release in late 2008.
