I Darkest Hour sono un gruppo metalcore/New Wave of American Heavy Metal con forti influenze melodic death metal nato a Washington D.C. nel 1996. La band è nata per iniziativa di Mike Schleibaum. Prima di riuscire a fare il primo concerto il 23 settembre 1995 il gruppo subisce numerosi cambi di line-up. Insieme a Schleibaum ci sono John Henry, Matt Maben e Raul Mayorga, il prodotto è un sound più oscuro e lento rispetto a quello melodico attuale ed influenzato da gruppi come Bloodlet e Damnation A.D.. The Last Hour è il progetto solista di Roberto Del Vecchio (ex Gothica / Les Jumeaux Discordants). Il suo passato è legato al nome Gothica, avendo realizzato due CD "Night Thoughts" (2000) e "The Cliff of Suicide" (2003) con l'etichetta svedese Cold Meat Industry. Il progetto The Last Hour è nato nel 2004 dopo lo scioglimento dei Gothica. Il primo brano composto è stato "Into Empty Depth" apparso nella compilation della Cold Meat Industry "Flowers Made of Snow" (2004). Nel dicembre 2008, esce il suo primo CD "The Last Hour" per l'etichetta russa Intuition Records .
