Gli Evanescence sono un gruppo rock statunitense, formatosi nel 1998 a Little Rock (capitale dell'Arkansas).
Suonano generalmente alternative rock con influenze gotiche, soprattutto per quanto riguarda i testi, ma non tutte le canzoni seguono questo schema. La vocalist Amy Lee ha dichiarato, in una recente intervista, che il suono degli Evanescence non è da allocarsi ad un unico genere musicale, quanto ad un insieme di gothic, alternative ed epic rock con influenze a tratti metal e rap.
