I System of a Down (abbreviato S.O.A.D.) sono un gruppo alternative metal statunitense, formatosi a Los Angeles nel 1995.
I componenti sono tutti originari dell'Armenia , e discendono dai superstiti del genocidio subito dal loro popolo, di cui parlano in molte canzoni. Si fanno notare per le numerose influenze stilistiche, ma anche per l'impegno sociale e politico. I Shinedown sono una rockband formatasi a Jacksonville in Florida all'inizio del 2001. Il gruppo é composto da Brent Smith (voce), Jasin Todd (chitarra), Brad Stewart (basso) e Barry Kerch (batteria), che a quel punto si erano appena conosciuti. In 1993 bass player Joakim (Harju) Hedestedt and drummer Richard Bng started a band called Machine God along with guitarist Alex Linder. The band was soon joined by vocalist Marco Aro.
